There is still time to sign up and join in the
neighborhood Yard Sale.
We’re looking for more participants.
GACA Members may participate free of charge.
Non-members can join GACA at only $30 in order to
participate.
Work with a friend
or neighbor:
If you don’t have many items, do a joint sale with a
friend.
Or, ask if you can add some items to one of the sites
listed on the back of this sheet.
Please use the contact information below to sign up so that we can list all
locations.
Tell me what you will be selling so that we can help you promote sales,
i.e. toys, furniture, kids clothing, electronics, house wares, tools, books and
records, etc.

The 1st Annual Oak Groove Music, Arts, and Food Festival! Sunday May 19, 2013 from 1 to 7 pm. Vista Grove Plaza, LaVista Road For details visit http://www.oakgroove.org The festival promises to bring the community together for fun, friendship and support for the neighborhood. The proceeds from the festival will benefit green space projects along the LaVista/Briarcliff corridor. The festival features local businesses, artists and entertainers from all of the neighborhoods in and around Oak Grove including, Sagamore Hills, Leafmore, Briarlake, Shallowford, Hawthorne and North Briarcliff.
Vendors will offer artwork and crafts as well as food, beer and wine for sale. Restaurants will provide free tastings. Musical performances are scheduled on stage. A kids’ area will provide bounce houses, crafts and games. See the website for details on musicians and a schedule. |

Save the date for the GACA Yard sale currently scheduled for Saturday June 8,
2013.
Last
year’s event was well attended and enjoyed, so we decided to do this
again.
Please
use the contact information below to inform us of what you will be selling i.e.
toys, furniture, kids clothing, electronics, house wares, tools, books and
records, etc.
We
would like to include this in all publicity for this neighborhood yard sale.
There
will also be signage placed through the neighborhood, provided by Glenda
Alexander of “The Alexander Team” Real Estate organization.

When: Saturday, April 27 2013 Where: The Vanni's Backyard - 2915 Greenwillow Drive
Greenwood Acres Civic Association invites you to join us for a Backyard Movie Night featuring Disney/Pixar's Toy Story.
The movie will begin at dusk (approximately 8:15). Guests may arrive as early as 7:30 to socialize with friends and neighbors.
Bring blankets/chairs for seating.
Popcorn, bottled water and juice will be provided for the kids. Adults may bring their own adult libations and nibbles if you wish.
Adults: $2.00 each Kids: $1.00 each
Non-members welcomed! Great time to join GACA and meet your neighbors. Membership fee is $30 per household.

DECATUR – DeKalb County welcomes county residents to
participate in the 2013 Spring Household Hazardous Waste Event on Saturday,
April 6th, 8 a.m. – noon at the DeKalb County Central Transfer
Station, 3720 Leroy Scott Drive, Decatur, GA 30030.
The event,
sponsored by Keep DeKalb Beautiful (KDB) and the DeKalb County Sanitation
Division, in partnership county residents an opportunity to dispose of their household
hazardous wastes properly free of charge.
Household
hazardous waste is classified as products that contain potentially dangerous
chemicals and are no longer used. These products should not be mixed with
regular trash and can be potentially harmful to the environment if not disposed
of properly.
DeKalb County
encourages residents to take advantage of this opportunity to clear their homes
of unneeded or unused household hazardous waste and to help keep county
landfills and the environment safe for everyone.
The following
are lists of items that will and will not be accepted at the event.
Please make sure to bring only items on the items accepted list or they will be
turned away
Items accepted: - Aerosols
- Mercury
- Batteries
- Adhesives
- Flammables
- lawn-care products
- Automotive products
- Fluorescent bulbs
- Photo chemicals
- Hobby and artists supplies
- Paints and paint-related products
- Cleaners and swimming pool chemicals
Items NOT accepted:- Bio-hazardous/Bio-medical waste
- Agricultural waste
- Ammunition
- Explosives
- Pharmaceuticals
- Radioactive materials
- Non-hazardous waste
The event is free for DeKalb residents; IDs are required and
early arrival is recommended. Residents are limited to 10 gallons of paint per
vehicle. No commercial vehicles will be allowed.
